An hour and a half wait for a Bulgogi Benny. Was it worth it?
Since it was such a long wait, we thought we might take in a movie. Instead, we grabbed some Turkish coffee from a nearby bakery. Unfortunately, it was subpar.
It didn’t help much, but it killed a little time while we waited for your table is ready phone call.
We came around 9AM and had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table (unfortunately two big parties signed up their name before us). It’s a very small restaurant with about 10 or less tables, so I can definitely see how quickly it can fill up and have such long lines.
The food was on point, it tasted exactly as we thought it would. We loved our plates. The service can use some improvement as far as organization and functionality. The reason is they take your name and phone# and give a call, that’s right, call you on the phone to confirm your table is ready. Think this could move to an automated system like open table or text.
They don’t take reservations on Yelp yet, so if you’re planning to come during brunch, I’d suggest getting there early. You’ll need to sign in inside to get on the list, totally worth the wait though!
Entrees I tried:
* Bulgogi Benedict: perfectly poached eggs with kimchi and gochujang hollandaise, bursting with flavor and just the right amount of spice.
This place is super friendly and the food is beautiful and good. We enjoyed both the sweet and savory options. I liked the regular coffee- simple but well made. The drinks and the food all felt very special. Would not have expected such a treat on approaching from the street.
I’m always down for asian fusion style brunch so I knew I had to check out what the hype was about. They open as early as 7am and if you don’t want a wait, I highly encourage you to come as early as you can. We visited around 8:30ish on a Saturday morning and we happened to snag the last available table without having to wait.
